It's National Child Passenger Safety Week


ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation and the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety is reminding drivers about the importance of child seats because this week is National Child Passenger Safety Week. 

MoDOT Child Passenger Safety Technician Amber Dydell told KXCV/KRNW that even if you bought the best child car seat on the market, there's a few things to keep in mind.

She adds that cold and hot weather also breaks down the plastic over time. She also says you should never buy a used car seat, especially if you don't know the seat's history.
